DARLINE FOLTZ

Darline Foltz, RHIA, CHPS, CEHRS, is an associate professor at the University of Cincinnati–Clermont College. She holds bachelor’s degrees in both Health Information Management and Information Processing Systems. Foltz is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), has more than 40 years of experience in the health information field, and has held multiple hospital management positions. She also holds the Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) credential and the Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS) credential. As owner and president of Foltz & Associates, Healthcare Consulting Firm, Foltz has provided health information management and information systems consulting services to many clients, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, dialysis clinics, and mental health agencies. Active in professional and community service, she is a former president of the Ohio Health Information Management Association and former chairperson of the long-term care section of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Dr. Karen Lankish

Karen Lankisch, PhD, RHIA, MHI, CHDA, CEHRS, CPPM, CPC, is a professor and program director of Health Information Systems Technology at the University of Cincinnati–Clermont College. Dr. Lankisch also serves as the Director of Online Learning. She is certified through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and as a Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA). She also holds the Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS), Certified Physician Practice Management (CPPM), and Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentials. Dr. Lankisch has more than ten years of experience in the field of health information.

Dr. Lankisch is a Quality Matters Master Peer Reviewer and has completed reviews both nationally and internationally. She has served on the panel of reviewers for the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) since 2016. In addition to being an author, she has served as a national consultant for Paradigm Education Solutions, giving workshops and presentations to instructors on Paradigm’s technology learning solutions. Her research interests are emerging technology, online course design, and constructivist approaches to adult education. In 2013, she received the University of Cincinnati Faculty Award for Innovative Use of Technology in the Classroom. In 2016, she was selected for membership to the University of Cincinnati Academy of Fellows for Teaching and Learning. In 2018, she received the University of Cincinnati–Clermont College Faculty Mentoring Award.
