
Bridgette S. Stasher-Booker, Ph.D., MBA-IT, RHIA, CHTS-IM, MCCT, FACHDM, is a native of Mississippi, and currently serves as Associate Professor, Chair of the Health Information Management Program at Alabama State University (Montgomery, AL) and Principal Investigator of Langston University Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (LU-RRTC) grant.
She is a graduate of Mississippi College (Clinton, MS), with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science. She received her Master’s degree from Jackson State University (Jackson, MS) in History and has a Doctoral degree in Public Policy and Administration with an emphasis in Policy Analysis also from Jackson State University and a Master in Business Administration in Information Management. She is a published author and in 2021, she served as Co-PI on the Association of State Public Health Nutritionist project entitled Cardiovascular Disease Risk Assessment of HBCU in the Deep South Project and lead on the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program Initiative. In 2020, Booker was awarded the primary evaluator for the American Diabetes Association Pfizer Foundation Social Determinants of Health Grant Program and served as PI on the Department of the Air Force Small Business Technology Transfer Program project entitled SIMI (Service Interoperability for Medical Information). In 2019, she participated in the working group with the MGMWERX & HBCU Connection. In 2018, she became a Langston University Fellow. In 2016, Booker received the College of Health Science Faculty of the Year Award. She served as Chair of the Diabetes Coalition of Mississippi (DCM) and in 2010, she was selected and honored as one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women.
She is a certified as a Lean Six Sigma White Belt, Project Management Essentials and Supervisory Manager and Electronic Health Record Implementation Manager. Certificates received from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professionals Office of National Coordinator Health Data Analysis and Population Health and Johns Hopkins University and Normandale Community College Clinical Data Analytics and the Learning Health System Additionally, she holds certificates in team building, HIPPA Privacy, Security and Health Information Exchange, as a Workflow Analysis and Redesign Specialist, Diabetes Self-Management Trainer and Chronic Disease Self-Management Facilitator.
In her previous role, she served as a Clinical Application Coordinator with the Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Services (Sisseton, SD). Booker also provided ongoing support of multiservice clinical software applications and designed EHR programming and system design for physicians and other clinicians. She worked for the Mississippi Department of Medicaid as a Staff Officer III in the Office of Managed Care and assisted in determining major policies and procedures and provided input into significant agency operations, as well as facilitated major healthcare administration projects (managed care).
